BYD expands its offering for taxi and rental-car companies in Germany. According to the manufacturer, the new push includes attractive terms, several electrified vehicle models, and a nationwide network of specialized retrofit partners. The aim is to make it easier for commercial fleet operators to switch to electrified vehicles.

Focus on plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles

At the center of the offering is the plug-in hybrid "BYD SEAL 6 DM-i TOURING". The model achieves a combined range of up to 1,350 kilometers according to WLTP. Of this, up to 100 kilometers can be electric-only.

The offering is to be expanded soon with the all-electric models "BYD ATTO 3 EVO" and "BYD SEALION 7." Customers will thus be able to choose between plug-in hybrid and battery-electric vehicles depending on the deployment profile.

National network for taxi conversions

For the industry-specific vehicle conversion, the manufacturer works with four partner companies. These include DIE Transform from the Lang Group in Nümbrecht, INTAX in Oldenburg, Heedfeld in Berlin, and Reuss in Hamburg. According to the company, this network covers the conversion process from vehicle order to the delivery of the deployment-ready vehicle.

Around 100 vehicles available on short notice

Together with DIE Transform, BYD says it has around 100 already retrofitted vehicles in stock. This should enable taxi and rental car companies to expand or modernize their fleets in the short term. The initiative underscores the manufacturer's long-term commitment to the professional mobility sector in Germany. (Source: BYD)
