Zaptec launches a legally compliant charging solution for public charging onto the market
Charging stations in public spaces must enable precise and accurate billing of charging performance. The new Zaptec Pro meets the requirements of calibration law and ensures complete transparency for every charging process.
The type-examination certificate was issued by the independent conformity assessment body NMi. This means the solution is approved in Germany and Austria and can be used wherever operators need to bill third-party charging processes.
Legal Metrology Compliant Charging - Fully Transparent and Legally Compliant
The Zaptec Pro charging station is equipped with a meticulously designed measuring device whose seamless integration of software and hardware ensures precise measurement of charging energy - under all weather and usage conditions. An integrated crypto chip protects the charging data from manipulation. Measurement data is displayed locally on the device's display and is available for later visualization via Zaptec services (App, Portal, OCPP).
Operators of a Zaptec Pro charging solution work in compliance with legal metrology and GDPR, offering users maximum transparency. By connecting to the S.A.F.E. software, charging processes can be checked for accuracy in accordance with German measurement and calibration law, ensuring correct billing.

Zaptec Pro is already established across Europe as a smart system for efficient charging. The new calibration law-compliant solution offers all the advantages of the previous model, including cost-efficient scalability. After the initial setup of the charging infrastructure, operators can add additional charging points without further electronic work and without high costs. Pre-mounted connection backplates ensure this, as they are installed along with the wiring.
New charging points can be screwed onto the backplates as soon as the demand for charging increases. This allows Zaptec Pro to offer optimal cost control and more flexibility than comparable solutions. The patented Zaptec charging technology ensures that the available power is intelligently distributed across all connected charging points, allowing even large properties and parking areas to provide adequate charging infrastructure.
