"Full-Blooded Taxi Driver" Nico Höttges is the new office manager of the TMV

There is currently a lot going on at the Taxi and Rental Car Association of Germany (TMV). According to Patrick Meinhardt, they have continued to network intensively – and are presenting Nico Höttges from Wuppertal as a new office manager.

The expansion of the network with allies for the taxi and rental car sector through membership in the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion and the Bund der Steuerzahler is steadily gaining momentum. According to TMV, the TMVdirekt event series, which enables personal contact between companies and politicians, is considered a successful model. The development of the competence team with the managing directors of the state associations allows questions from the industry to be answered immediately and directly and has produced two papers on the public transport taxi and the TSE as concrete initial results.

Moreover, the TMV is integrated into all central issues in the capital through its new state association with the Berlin Taxi Guild and is connected through an associated partnership with the friends of the Fachverband PKW-Hessen e.V. It is currently in the process of activating further networks with other cooperative associations in Germany and Europe.

"As TMV, we are therefore pleased that we have achieved something special in terms of personnel. With the former member of the Bundestag, Patrick Meinhardt, we have been able to secure an absolute political professional as managing director for almost four years for our network work, who has massively expanded the political networks for the taxi and rental car industry and will be particularly challenged this year with the upcoming early Bundestag elections, coalition negotiations, and government formation." Explains TMV President Thomas Kroker.

As the new office manager of the TMV, someone has been gained since the beginning of the year who is truly no stranger to the industry and the TMV. Indeed, Nico Höttges is a genuine "full-blooded taxi driver" and industry professional.

"Nico Höttges, who led the taxi center in Wuppertal as chairman until the end of last year, has now switched to the TMV," according to TMV President Thomas Kroker, who is very pleased with the Meinhardt/Höttges duo and has already announced that much more will happen this year.

And you can also sense with Patrick Meinhardt how happy he is with this decision:

"Being able to recruit such a complete professional like Nico for the TMV is a real stroke of luck, and we get along perfectly. The number of professional inquiries at the federal office is increasing every day, as well as personal questions about membership. Nico Höttges, with his 40 years of experience in the trade, is exactly the right person in the right place."

Joined the family business at the age of 20

Nico Höttges has learned the taxi trade from the ground up. In 1984, at the age of 20, he joined the family's taxi business as a driver, took it over from his father in 1987 at the age of 23, and still runs it today. In 2005, he was elected to the board of the TaxiZentrale Wuppertal, which he led as chairman from the beginning of 2016 until December 31 for nine years.

In addition to this, Nico Höttges represents the taxi industry in many other areas. He is a member of the General Assembly of the Bergische IHK as well as its traffic and examination committee. Furthermore, he sits on the traffic committee of the city of Wuppertal. In the professional association Personenverkehr Nordrhein, Taxi-Mietwagen e.V. (FPN), Nico Höttges serves as Deputy Chairman, and in TMV, he was engaged from the first day of its foundation as Deputy Chairman of the Board.

Nico Höttges is very pleased with the new role as office manager of TMV: “The situation in the trade is becoming increasingly difficult, and we associations have an ever more important task to influence the politics and administration and especially to stand by our members with advice and support. In the first days, I was already able to give some good advice over the phone to members and interested parties. And the collaboration with the colleagues in the TMV competence team is magnificent. This way, we can provide concrete answers to all technical questions relatively quickly via very short service routes.”

For Kroker, everything fits here. TMV was designed from the start as an association of associations, built decentrally, with many competent heads in the country and the federal government doing the work for the trade.

“Thus, our office work will also be assigned to three locations,” Kroker continues to explain. “The capital office with our chief executive officer Patrick Meinhardt is in Berlin, the presidential office is in Munich, and the office of the office management and the postal address will be in Wuppertal with Nico Höttges.”
