New BYD ATTO 3 EVO: What the INTAX taxi version offers

INTAX now offers the "BYD ATTO 3 EVO" with a retrofit for use as a taxi and rental car. In doing so, the Oldenburg taxi manufacturer expands its range of vehicles from the Chinese electric car maker BYD. The compact electric SUV brings, compared with the previous ATTO 3, among other changes to battery, range, charging power and drivetrain.

Up to 510 kilometers of range

Depending on the version, the BYD ATTO 3 EVO reaches a range of up to 510 kilometers according to the WLTP testing procedure. The DC charging power is up to 220 kilowatts. Under suitable conditions, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 25 minutes.

Thus the model targets a deployment area relevant to taxi and rental-car companies: vehicles with high daily mileage require, in addition to adequate range, as short charging times as possible to limit downtimes during operation.

More storage space for luggage

For passenger transport, the available luggage volume is also important. The trunk of the electric SUV, according to the provider, has a capacity of 490 liters. In addition, there is a 101-liter storage space under the front hood.

Thus there are two separate compartments for luggage and other carried items.

Conversion for taxi and rental car

INTAX outfits the BYD ATTO 3 EVO for commercial use with industry-specific taxi or rental-car equipment. According to the company, the technical integration should be carried out in such a way that the vehicle’s standard character is largely preserved.

At the same time, the conversion is designed to be reversible at a later stage. This can be especially important when a vehicle is to be sold on after its commercial use without taxi equipment.
