The mobility provider Freenow is expanding its presence in Kassel and will cooperate in future with KTP kassel.taxi.personenbeförderung GmbH. The company is run by the Kassel-based taxi entrepreneur Farukh Qayyum. As part of the collaboration, more than 40 additional vehicles are now available to passengers via the Freenow app.

Improved taxi availability

By integrating KTP vehicles into the platform, passengers in Kassel will be able to find an available taxi more quickly and book and pay for their ride directly via the app. This increases customer flexibility while at the same time boosting the visibility and utilization of local taxis.

Importance for the region

“Kassel is an important university and business region. That’s why we are pleased to expand our offering here: passengers benefit from higher availability, easy booking and modern app-based mobility,”

said Alexander Mönch, President Freenow Germany & Austria.

Freenow had already been active in Kassel; the partnership with KTP GmbH now expands the offering. The company’s drivers were trained in advance and integrated into the app.

Kassel, the largest city in northern Hesse with around 200,000 inhabitants, is regarded as the cultural and economic center of the region. In addition to the university, medium-sized companies and the documenta in particular regularly attract visitors. The high number of commuters is also driving growing demand for flexible mobility options.

Strengthening the local taxi industry

According to the partners, not only passengers will benefit from the cooperation. The Kassel taxi industry is also to be strengthened through the integration.

“With Freenow, we have found a partner that advocates nationwide for fair competition and against social dumping. Together, we offer our passengers a convenient service with an individual ordering option and future-proof technology.”

says Farukh Qayyum, managing director of KTP kassel.taxi.personenbeförderung GmbH. Freenow emphasizes that the cooperation will continue its close collaboration with local taxi companies. The aim is to further expand the platform while ensuring fair conditions for the participating operators.
