BVTM informs about new train vouchers
The Federal Association of Taxi and Rental Cars points out in its TaBeA (Tariff-related Provision Charge) info newsletter the changes to the vouchers starting from the beginning of April. The railway taxi vouchers can appear at any location within Germany. Therefore, taxi companies should be comprehensively able to process digital vouchers. Starting from March 31, the digital railway taxi vouchers will be issued. This enables passengers to be issued a taxi voucher more quickly and easily in case of train irregularities. The option to also issue vouchers at the train station remains unchanged.
Digital vouchers from train attendants look different from the vouchers from the station, but they are processed in exactly the same way: scan the QR code or enter the retrieval code – and you're ready to go.
The digital vouchers from train attendants come in two variants:
• Paper printout in receipt format with QR code.
These vouchers are created with the mobile printers carried by the train staff.
• Digital voucher on the passenger's smartphone.
These vouchers are transferred to the passenger's smartphone and are completely paperless.
For the driver, the process is always the same: scan the QR code or enter the retrieval code – and off you go.
By scanning the code, the voucher is checked for authenticity and at the same time invalidated, so it cannot be used again.
If the voucher is digitally scanned, everything else happens automatically. Those who want to be extra safe can of course keep the receipt until the money is in the account - but this is not required. If the voucher is on the passenger's smartphone, there is no receipt – those who also want an additional backup here can simply photograph the voucher and have it documented that way.
By the way: If the voucher is on the smartphone, there is a button “Information for drivers” – which then contains the details of the journey.
With this innovation, the BahnTaxi becomes even easier for Deutsche Bahn customers. And it's also easier for entrepreneurs: the submission of receipts is gradually eliminated, the billing is done automatically, and the entrepreneur gets the money in their account faster.
