Slovak battery entrepreneur involved in Lilium rescue
Among the key saviors of the German electric aircraft manufacturer is the Slovak entrepreneur Marian Boček. Among the financiers is the investment company DTM Investments, as a spokesperson for the investor consortium MUC said. According to the Slovak commercial register, DTM belongs to the former investment banker. First reported by the "Bild" newspaper.
Boček is not unknown in the European electric industry: The entrepreneur's most ambitious project is the establishment of a large battery manufacturer named Inobat in his Slovak homeland. According to "Bild," Boček wants to invest 150 million euros in Lilium, making him a major investor. However, the investor consortium MUC does not want to disclose figures on the contribution of individual financiers.

Lilium filed for bankruptcy in the fall because the money for setting up production was lacking. Shortly before Christmas, the investor consortium MUC signed the purchase agreement for the operating assets of the two Lilium subsidiaries Lilium GmbH and Lilium eAircraft. In total, the investors involved in the consortium want to provide Lilium with 200 million euros. Not all investors are known by name, but the German battery developer and manufacturer CustomCells is among them.
Restructuring Planned
Lilium is led by former Airbus manager Klaus Roewe. Customers and investors had already invested 1.5 billion euros in the company, which was listed on the US Nasdaq stock exchange until the bankruptcy filing. The investor consortium aims to complete the restructuring in the first quarter.
