The Lower Saxony Taxi and Rental Car Day 2026 brought together representatives of the taxi and rental-car industry as well as from authorities, associations and the business community in Bad Nenndorf. The General Association of the Transport Industry of Lower Saxony e.V. had prepared for the event in the Wandelhalle a program with expert talks, workshops and an accompanying exhibition.

Dimitrios Konstantianos, chairman of the Specialist Association for Taxi and Rental Cars, opened the event. After a welcome address by Chief Executive Benjamin Sokolovic and organizational notes by State Director Stephen Schubert, the technical program followed.

Public Transport Taxi as a Mobility Service

A focus was on integrating taxis into public passenger transport. Mareike Harlfinger-Düpow, head of Mobility at the District of Lüneburg, presented the practical implementation of the ÖPNV-Taxi and the experiences gained in the process.

Thus the program addressed a mobility offering at the interface between taxi and public passenger transport. The presentation, according to the association, focused on the practical implementation and the experiences to date.

Practical Check of the Technical Security System

Another focus was the Technical Security System. Under the program item “10 months of TSE – implementation, controls and conclusion,” financial and tax expert Edo Diekmann examined the experiences to date, the implementation, and the associated controls.

The Technical Security System thus concerns another operational topic that the association addressed at the industry meeting. The focus was on the experiences from the first ten months.

Workshops on Wages and Work-Related Stress

Two workshops complemented the expert lectures. Lars Bittner, deputy chairman of the Professional Association for Taxi and Rental Cars, dealt with possibilities for wage structuring in the taxi industry.

Dr. Simone Krieger of Confido Consulting addressed in a second workshop the handling of pressure in everyday professional life. According to the organizer, it was about practical approaches to dealing with different challenges in the taxi and rental-car industries.

Eleven vehicles at the specialist exhibition

The program was accompanied by a specialist exhibition. There, exhibitors presented products, services and solutions for taxi and car rental companies. A total of eleven exhibition vehicles were on site.

Among others, the supporters named in the press release included Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, MPC-Software, and Payco. In addition to the specialist program, the event was intended to facilitate exchange between companies, associations and other stakeholders.

Association aims to expand the event format

The professional association for taxi and rental cars plans to further develop the event format. At the next Lower Saxony Taxi and Rental Car Day, according to the association, even more entrepreneurs as well as additional partners from politics, public administration and business are to be addressed.
