Future of the Taxi Industry: Federal Association Presents Guidelines for Public Transport Taxi
At the last general meeting of the Federal Association of Taxi and Rental Cars, Floris Cooijmans, Consultant for Governmental Relations & Regulation, presented a paper aimed at supporting local taxi companies in convincing their regional politicians and administrations to implement the "Public Transport Taxi" concept in five simple steps.

The flyer, which briefly and concisely explains what the Public Transport Taxi actually is, references districts where the Public Transport Taxi is already being successfully operated, such as the district of Freudenstadt. The document also provides an overview of all the steps to be taken from the start of discussions to the implementation of the concept.
“The public transport taxi is an important concept for the future of the taxi industry, especially in rural areas,” emphasizes Cooijmans. “There, we are currently experiencing significant declines in revenue, so entrepreneurs have to find other sources of income or shut down their businesses, which acutely endangers the provision of essential services in the countryside.”
The public transport taxi is an example of how taxi entrepreneurs can benefit from public transport financing by offering a type of on-demand service. So far, however, the taxi is the only part of public transport that has to be financed 100 percent from its own revenue.
“This is to change now with the help of the plan developed by the Federal Association for simple implementation, at least at the local level,” Cooijmans continues.
The flyer for the public transport taxi is intended to help local entrepreneurs independently seek discussions with local authorities and can be downloaded here.
