The Taxi and Rental Car Association Germany (TMV) is hosting its Think Tank on October 23 and 24 at the Bildungszentrum Aufseesianum in Bamberg. Under the motto "Taxi 4.0 – Rethinking Mobility!" representatives from practice, industry and politics are to discuss central future questions facing the trade. The aim is to develop new approaches and solutions for a future-proof development of the taxi and rental-car sector.

Three core questions are at the center: Which developments are crucial for a sustainable industry? How should the relationship with competitors such as Uber and other platform providers be shaped? And in which areas can the sector become more efficient and faster?

Political impulses and digital participation

The Bavarian State Minister for Transport, Dr. Christian Bernreiter (MdL), chair of the Conference of Transport Ministers, issues a digital greeting message to the participants. Bernreiter thus also points to the thematic proximity to the upcoming Conference of Transport Ministers on 29 and 30 October, at which, among other things, the so-called 'Kleine Fachkunde' will be discussed.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister of Bavaria and Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger (MdL), will be digitally connected, as well as Tino Schopf (MdA), former State Secretary and spokesperson for Mobility and Transport of the SPD faction in the Berlin House of Representatives, who are expected to participate in a current affairs debate. This will give the participants direct exchange with political decision-makers.

Workshops and Discussions

The Think Tank is planned for two days. On the first day, keynote lectures and discussion rounds are in the foreground, in which ideas and proposals for the further development of the trades are collected. The second day is reserved for technical workshops, the results of which are brought together in the plenary. The results are intended to serve as the basis for TMV's further substantive work.

In memory of Michael Müller

At the start of the Think Tank on Thursday, October 23, at 12:30 p.m., TMV will pay tribute to its late honorary president Michael Müller. The association calls nationwide all persons connected with the trade to observe a minute of reflection and appreciation.

In Bamberg, a condolence book will also be available, in which participants can record personal words and memories. Müller had shaped the taxi and rental-car industry for more than four decades and was instrumental in founding the TMV.
