(dpa) New figures indicate rising casualty numbers in road traffic. Especially in urban areas and among vulnerable road users, there is a further need for improvement.

In the Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, a model of the autonomous shuttle “HOLON urban” is being driven for the first time. At the same time, the identically built vehicle is gathering further experience in public road testing on Hamburg’s streets.

According to the motorist price index, households in Germany spend 11.9% of their cost of living on transport. And: driving is getting more expensive, not only at the pump.

With "AmiGo", PostAuto will begin testing automated, electric, on-demand vehicles from 2025. The concept resembles taxi- and ride-pooling services—but is part of public transport. For the industry, the project could serve as a test case for future mobility services.

How is the industry reacting to Uber & Co.? At the TMV-Think Tank, experts and politicians discuss efficiency, competitiveness, and new approaches to passenger transport. Political impulses and a shared remembrance also shape the two-day meeting.

What opportunities does "Taxi 4.0" offer for the economy and public transport? The TMV's think tank wants to provide answers – with discussions on efficiency, digitalisation and fair competitive conditions in the taxi and rental-car sector.

(dpa) The planned app by BVG and Hochbahn allows users to freely combine transport options – including taxis. The modular interface is intended to bundle travel requests and simplify access to on-demand services.

The TMV sees new opportunities for the industry: reducing bureaucracy, more public transport integration, and a "Germany Ticket Plus" are on the agenda. Taxis could also soon play a bigger role in rural areas.
