CES 2025: Nextbase introduces dashcams 385GW and 385GWX specifically developed for the automotive sector
Nextbase, provider of dashcam technology, announced the launch of the brand-new 385GW and 385GWX at CES 2025. The dashcams were developed based on the Nextbase 380GW model and will be supplied to automotive partners such as Toyota, Lexus, Kia, Hyundai, and VW. The new 385GW series features a discreet form factor and was developed with the modern demands of OEMs and the entire automotive sector in mind.
Both models are equipped with numerous features:
- The Nextbase 385GW features a front camera with 2K resolution at 1440p and 4MP, which can be discreetly mounted and has been crash tested.
- The Nextbase 385GWX comes standard with a 2K front camera and a 1080p rear camera for dual-view recording, allowing the driver to capture all incidents during the drive.
Dashcams with Versatile Functions
Both dashcams include new versions of the Nextbase Protection Platform, which the company introduced last year. This allows customers of vehicle manufacturers to access the core functionality of the world's dashcams.
Features include:
- Guardian Mode Lite – Monitors the location and speed of all drivers and tracks when a vehicle is driven by someone other than the vehicle owner, such as a family member, an employee, or a mechanic. Once an incident occurs, the relevant video recordings are automatically saved and tagged with a timestamp and GPS marker. The clips can be accessed via the new integrated Nextbase app, provided the user is connected to the local WiFi. If a driver exceeds a certain speed limit or location, the footage is automatically saved and the vehicle owner is notified.
- Witness Mode Lite – A voice-controlled feature that immediately notifies an emergency contact or a predefined third person in the event of an accident, provided there is a Bluetooth connection.
- Smart Parking – Automatically triggers a recording when the vehicle is struck. The driver is notified as soon as they are back in range of the vehicle.
