Digital driver's license verification is intended to reduce the administrative burden on taxi companies.

According to HALE, the legally required verification of the driver's license can be fully digitally integrated into existing operational processes.

HALE expands its data center with the add-on module “Driver's License Verification.” This will allow taxi and rental-car companies to digitally perform and document the legally required verification of their drivers' licenses. According to the company, the solution is aimed particularly at multi-vehicle operations and larger fleets to reduce administrative burden.

Digitization of Driver's License Verification

The basis of the system is a tamper-proof RFID tag that is affixed to the driver's license and assigned in the data center to the respective driver. Subsequently, the regular checks can be carried out without the need for manual list management.

Multiple Ways to Verify

According to the company, the driver's license check can be performed directly at shift sign-in using the devices “MCT-07” or “WSZ-07”. Alternatively, a check during driver payroll via the cash register HKA-01 is possible. In addition, the driver's license can be checked in the office with the help of an NFC reader, for example during a shift change or as part of the driver payroll.

Automatic Documentation

According to HALE, all checks are automatically logged in the data center. The stored proofs could be printed during regulatory inspections. The check interval can be set individually. In addition, a traffic-light system informs about upcoming or due checks.

Costs

For the use of the add-on module, HALE charges, according to its own statements, €0.50 per vehicle per month. For each driver's license, a one-time RFID tag is required at a price of €5. (Source: HALE electronic)
