Transport policy in focus: TMV dialogue offers exchange with Members of the Bundestag
The proven online format "TMV Direkt" invites industry representatives to directly address questions and concerns to representatives involved with topics in the transportation sector.
The format "TMV Direkt" was launched in 2021, coinciding with the discussion on the amendment of the Passenger Transportation Act (PBefG). The goal is to create a platform for exchange between politics and industry. The concept has proven itself: Interested parties can register via email and submit their questions either in advance or during the event. An internet-enabled device with a camera and microphone is sufficient to participate. The event is moderated by the TMV management.
Discussion Partners from Politics
In January and February 2025, TMV has secured five members of the Bundestag for a new season of "TMV Direkt." All participants belong to the Bundestag Committee on Transport and are well-versed in the topics of taxis and rental cars.
Henning Rehbaum from the CDU/CSU opens the season on January 14th (1:00 PM to 2:00 PM). The transport politician advocates for strengthening the workforce in the transport sector and the further development of European transport policy. Rehbaum is also the chairman of the parliamentary circle on buses.
On January 16th (11:00 AM to 12:00 PM), Oliver Luksic (FDP) follows, who as Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Digital and Transport has set significant impulses in the taxi and rental car sector. His political goals include the digitization of the transport sector and a stronger deregulation to promote competition and innovation.
On January 23rd (11:00 AM to 12:00 PM), Jürgen Lenders, also from the FDP, takes questions from the industry. The liberal transport politician has made a name for himself as a rapporteur on taxis and rental cars and advocates for flexible regulations that address the needs of both passengers and providers.
Martin Kröber (SPD) will be a guest on January 30th (4:30 PM – 5:30 PM). The SPD politician sees the taxi and rental car industry as a central component of public transportation and calls for better integration into public transport.
The conclusion will be on February 18th (11:00 AM to 12:00 PM) with Michael Donth from the CDU/CSU. As a rapporteur for the PBefG and public transport, he advocates for clear and practical regulations that ensure traffic safety and the quality of passenger transport.
Participation and Registration
Interested parties can register by email at info@tmv-deutschland.de or by phone at 030-235 94 80 11. Questions for the politicians can also be submitted in advance. The dial-in links will be sent to the participants in due time.
With the renewed start of “TMV Direkt”, the association demonstrates the importance of an open dialogue between politics and the industry in order to meet the challenges of passenger transport. In view of the upcoming federal election, the format is likely to provide an important opportunity to discuss political direction for the future of the industry.
