Passengers show heart: Freenow supports ASB-Wünschewagen with €150,000.
Since March 2025, users of the Freenow by Lyft taxi app can round up the fare to the next full euro when paying. The difference is donated to the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) without deductions and benefits the “Wünschewagen” project. The ASB fulfills the last wishes of seriously ill people – for example a visit to the sea or to a favorite club.

According to the company, by October 2025 around 295,000 donations from about 37,000 users had been recorded. In total, this added up to just under €150,000. On average, riders donated 49 cents per ride. The donation option can be activated with every booking or permanently stored in the user profile. "It is heartening to see our passengers support this initiative so extensively and that, in doing so, in cooperation with the ASB, they make other people happy. Freenow forwards the donations entirely to the ASB, and we are proud to be able to support this wonderful project with it."
The initiative should also be continued beyond the current period.

The ASB Wishes Wagon of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund is financed exclusively by donations and own funds. Since 2014, volunteer helpers have enabled people in their final phase of life to fulfil personal wishes. The project is active nationwide and is run by the ASB, a politically and confessionally independent relief and welfare organization with around 1.5 million members and over 20,000 volunteers.
