Digital E-Taxi at Schiphol Airport: How Schiphol Taxi Network with CloudBoxx and GoodMoovs Optimizes Operations

Schiphol Taxi Network, one of the four new taxi licensees at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, is launching a digital taxi service based on Invers' car-sharing technology. Since November 1, 2025, Schiphol Taxi Network has been operating a fleet of 50 vehicles at the airport.

Technology and data competence were important evaluation criteria in the bidding process. By combining the telematics solution "CloudBoxx" from Invers with the booking software from "GoodMoovs," "Schiphol Taxi Network" is able to meet the specific requirements.

New digital taxi service

Schiphol Taxi Network relies on the telematics solution CloudBoxx and the booking solution from GoodMoovs to offer a new digital taxi service at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The system provides keyless vehicle access, leads to high fleet utilization and enables a data-driven operation of the fully electric taxi fleet. The new service launched on November 1, 2025 with 50 electric BMWs and is operated under one of the airport's four exclusive taxi concessions.

Real-time vehicle data

The new service is based on GoodMoovs' shared-mobility platform. It provides keyless access to the vehicles using the CloudBoxx and delivers to the operator vehicle data such as battery status, mileage, or vehicle condition for the entire fleet of the Schiphol Taxi Network in real time. The drivers can simply unlock the vehicles via an app and start their trips. The traditional handover of keys between drivers is eliminated. The operator receives comprehensive vehicle data that supports them in fleet management and operations control. This optimizes the operation of vehicles used by multiple drivers and extends the service life of the cars.

“With this new digital approach, we aim to achieve as high a fleet utilization as possible,” says Gerry Oosterbaan, Managing Director at Schiphol Taxi Network. “Our goal is that the vehicles stand idle only for charging or maintenance. We have our own hub in Schiphol-Rijk with about 70 to 80 charging stations.”

GoodMoovs and Invers built the new service within just 30 days after the tender result was announced and made it ready for operation. Many drivers were already familiar with digital access solutions of other taxi fleets in the Amsterdam region. That simplified the operator's onboarding and quickly ensured stable operation.

Ride-data collaboration with Bolt

According to Schiphol's licensing regulations, the fleet is 100 percent electric and runs without company logos on the vehicles. With a focus on digitization and data, Schiphol Taxi Network also helps Schiphol Airport manage mobility more efficiently. Based on real-time ride data and in collaboration with Bolt, the fleet deployment for transfers between the airport and the city is optimized. A driver who has taken a passenger from the airport into the city will, where possible, receive a new trip there with a passenger who needs to go to the airport. This significantly reduces the number of empty trips. In this way, Schiphol Taxi Network helps reduce emissions and traffic congestion from taxi operations at the airport.

“Schiphol Taxi Network is a very specialized form of vehicle sharing, where the traditional taxi business model is digitized and mobility overall becomes more efficient,” says Bharath Devanathan, Chief Business Officer at Invers. “In conjunction with the GoodMoovs software and our CloudBoxx solution, the company can better utilize vehicles, reduce operational frictions, and support a sustainable airport transfer.”

All-electric fleet

With an eye to the future, Schiphol Taxi Network plans to stabilise and optimise current operations and then explore further growth opportunities. Together with GoodMoovs and Invers, it aims to further optimise the digital service based on live operating data, focusing on efficiency, driver experience, and service quality for passengers at one of Europe's busiest airports.

The technology behind the shared car

Whoever opens a carsharing car — or a taxi of the Schiphol Taxi Network — via the app and starts driving, only sees the surface of a complex system. In the background, connected hardware and software ensure that booking, access, and billing run smoothly. One of the providers of this technology is the company Invers.

Invers develops integrated solutions for operators of mobility services such as carsharing, car rental, or car subscriptions. The company is not aimed at end customers, but at fleet operators who want to manage their vehicles digitally and make them accessible automatically. The goal is to make shared mobility so simple and reliable that it can be a real everyday alternative to owning a car. Invers was founded in 1993, long before automated carsharing was widespread. Today, numerous providers use the company's technology, including Cambio, Free2move, Flinkster, Getaround, GreenMobility, Hertz 24/7 CarSharing, Miles Mobility, or Toyota Kinto. Public institutions in Europe and North America also rely on these systems.

Invers does not operate mobility services itself, but regards itself as an independent technology partner. Development takes place in Germany, with sites in Siegen, Cologne, and Vancouver.
