Toyota bZ4X facelift now as a taxi at Intax

Toyota has recently comprehensively revised its first large-series battery-electric model. The bZ4X originally hit the market in 2022. With the current facelift, Toyota primarily aims to improve those aspects that are decisive in daily use: efficiency, charging behavior, and range. The current model is now also available to order as a taxi from Intax.

The market for electric taxis is growing more slowly than many forecasts had suggested. High upfront costs, uncertain residual values, and charging infrastructure that, depending on the region, still has gaps, are hindering many operators. At the same time, manufacturers and upfitters are expanding their range of electric taxis. Taxi specialist Intax has taken on the current bZ4X and presents the all-electric Toyota SUV in taxi livery.

Technically, the model continues to rely on the e-TNGA platform, which Toyota developed together with Subaru. Among other things, a revised drive unit with more efficient e-axles and silicon carbide semiconductors is new. They enable higher performance and better energy efficiency. Three drive variants are available: a front-wheel-drive model with a 57.7-kWh battery and 123 kW of power, a stronger version with a 73.1-kWh battery and 165 kW, and an all-wheel-drive model with up to 252 kW.

Up to 570 kilometers of range

Toyota is also pushing the range further. Depending on the variant, up to around 570 kilometers is possible according to WLTP. The smaller battery delivers about 440 kilometers. Charging remains at a maximum of 150 kW at the DC fast-charging station, however, a battery preconditioning feature is new, intended to enable more stable charging performance, especially at low temperatures. An optional 22 kW AC charger is also available.

Inside, the facelift also appears modernized. A newly designed instrument panel and a 14-inch multimedia display will form the cockpit's center in the future. Assist systems such as the extended Toyota Safety Sense suite are part of the standard equipment, as are charging-planning features and digital vehicle keys.

More efficiency, more comfort

The Toyota bZ4X is now available at Intax as an updated facelift model for taxi use. This provides taxi and rental car operators with a modernized fully electric solution that has been enhanced in several aspects. Compared with the previous model, the bZ4X has been further improved, among other things, in efficiency, range and comfort. These exact points make it even more attractive for day-to-day commercial use.

And the bZ4X Kombi is coming soon!

As a preview, the Toyota bZ4X Touring is also expected to complement the Intax offering in the future. This will provide even more choice for everyone looking for an electric taxi with additional space.

Intax's customer support, according to their own statements, is readily available by phone or email to provide advice and assistance on taxi equipment. Information about the vehicle is available directly on the Toyota website as well as from the dealer.
