TMV leverages Berlin Economic Summer to deliver clear messages

To mark the industry's 125th anniversary, the association made a joint appearance with the Berlin Taxi Guild. The focus was on the challenges posed by illegal private hire vehicles, as well as the importance of solidarity within the SME sector.

The Berlin Economic Summer has developed into one of the largest networking events for business associations in the capital. The event is organized by the International Economic Council (IWR) and the Alliance of Associations (AdV). After previous stops at the Humboldt Forum and on Museum Island, this year’s edition was held at the Berlin Zoo.

Taxi and Private Hire Association once again a partner

For the third time, the Taxi and Private Hire Association (TMV) was a partner of the Economic Summer. Together with the Berlin Taxi Guild, the association had its own booth. There, TMV Chief Executive Patrick Meinhardt and head of office Nico Höttges advocated for the interests of the taxi and private hire sector. They were supported by Leszek Nadolski, chairman of the Berlin Taxi Guild, and treasurer Mariusz Kramer.

“The TMV is one of our most active SME member associations within the Alliance of Associations, and this year, too, the TMV booth, together with the Berlin Taxi Guild, was a highlight where many people met.”

said Tino Barth, chairman of the board of the IWR and the Alliance of Associations.

As part of the event, Barth was once again recognized as a “Taxi Ambassador.” The guest of honor for the evening was the Mongolian ambassador, H.E. Mandakhbileg Birvaa.

Industry priorities

For the TMV, the year was marked by the 125th anniversary of the taxi and private-hire industry. Topics included, among other things, drawing a clear distinction from illegal private-hire offerings in Berlin as well as the role of SMEs in economic and mobility policy. The association’s motto “Act, Deliver, Network” also shaped the event as a whole. (Source: TMV)
