Tesla Model Y: INTAX once again offers taxi conversions.

The vehicle upfitter INTAX is once again offering taxi retrofits for Tesla vehicles. According to the company, the offering is initially limited to the current Tesla Model Y. For the fully electric vehicle, corresponding taxi packages are available immediately. Other models from the U.S. electric car manufacturer as well as equipment packages for the rental-car business are not currently part of the program.

Upfitting program initially limited to the Model Y

With the resumption of the offering, taxi companies can again have the current Tesla Model Y outfitted by INTAX for commercial taxi operation. The retrofit specialist concentrates exclusively on the taxi equipment for this model.

No additional vehicles from the Tesla brand are being offered for the time being. Also for companies that want to have vehicles converted for car rental operations, there are currently no corresponding Tesla packages available.

Expansion of the offering still open

Whether INTAX will in the future include additional Tesla models in its retrofit program is currently unclear. According to the company, an expansion of the offering is fundamentally conceivable. The provider, however, has not yet made any binding statements about additional vehicle models or equipment packages for rental cars.

Thus, the current Model Y remains for the time being the only Tesla model for which INTAX offers taxi retrofit. The company does not provide a timetable for possible expansions.
