Bahntaxi launches reform: Digital vouchers and new rules for remuneration

The Bahntaxi project by Taxi Deutschland, FMS Systems and the Federal Association of Taxi and Rental Cars will be comprehensively further developed. According to the parties involved, the processing will in the future be completely switched to digitally readable vouchers. Analog variants will no longer be used. This should eliminate parallel procedures and make billing more uniform and transparent.

New remuneration rules for rural areas

A focus of the adjustments lies in rural and suburban regions where the remuneration has not always been considered appropriate. According to the announcement, trips up to fifty kilometers will in the future generally be billed according to the taximeter. For longer distances, the agreed framework price applies. This should increase the economic viability of Bahntaxi trips, especially at smaller railway stations.

Tailored billing fees

The project partners also explain that an increased billing fee will only apply if there is an actual digital connection. In regions without a digital option, the lower standard fee remains in effect. This is intended to account for structural differences between larger and smaller locations.

Centralized billing for the suburban fleet

At the same time, the billing structure will be streamlined. The previously partly complex regional regulations are being scrapped. For the so-called suburban fleet, Taxi Deutschland will in the future handle centralized billing.
